“Dear Brutalism” is a love letter to the woman that I want to be. A woman that embodies the nature of brutalism by being strong and having a dominating presence. She defies the social conventions of what it means to be a woman and is also fully comfortable in her femininity by expressing her sensual and fragile nature. She’s a balance of these elements since her strength can’t be born without that fragility. It serves as a reaction to the insecurities that one grows up internalizing, either too afraid to be assertive or too self conscious about showing their delicate nature.
